Large Ceramic Mezze Platter and bowl Day Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
If you've ever fancied making your own ceramic food ware then here's your chance! You will be using a 'stonewear' clay which makes the items foodsafe, to create a stunning sharing platter (perfect for serving cheeses, mezze, or even fish) or you can make a smaller platter with a small bowl. The first session is 3.5 hours, and will start with introductions and a short talk about the different types of clay and firing process. Following that you will then be taught how to create your platter. You will have the opportunity to design and make a template and then to cut and print textures into clay using slab work. We will stop for a 30 minute lunch break (lunch is not provided so please bring your own) and then continue with our clay work. During this session you will also have the chance to chose your glaze for the follow up glazing session. Cake and hot drinks will be provided.
Day 2 will be on 16th March, a return visit for you to then learn the process of glazing your bisque. This session is shorter please note the different times.
